The nominations for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 have been announced.

Music icons Whitney Houston and Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan are among the list of 16 nominees.

Although Houston has been declared as the most decorated female artist of all time with more than 400 career awards, this is her first time scoring a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination.

Meanwhile, this marks Rufus featuring Chaka Khan’s fourth nomination. The Chicago-based band was first nominated in 2011.

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

Inductees will be announced in January 2020. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020 Induction Ceremony, will be hosted on May 2, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fans can participate in the induction selection process. Beginning today (October 15) through January 10, 2020, fans can Google search “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or any nominee name plus “vote” to cast a ballot with Google. Alternatively, they can vote at rockhall.com or at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.

The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2020 inductees.
