R&B/hip-hop duo Layomi The Tampa Baes, which conists of OG Layla Johnson and Naomi Bravo, has released their second single titled “No Apologies” via Lunchbox Records.
Co-produced by Lunchmoney Lewis and Dave Diem, the unapologetic tune is the follow-up to “Dope Boyz,” which dropped in August.
The Tampa-based duo spoke with Rated R&B about what it means to be unapoloegtic as a woman in the music industry.
They said in a joint statement, “Being unapologetically yourself in every way shape and form. Not conforming to what male ideals think you should be. Standing strong in your word and belief. And moving like a Queen, like a woman who knows what she wants with purpose. One thing I’ve been told by my peers is that I’m always focused and not easily distracted by temptations.”
Layomi The Tampa Baes was formed after the two artists discovered their ability to create a sound that compliments each other. OG Layla Johnson provides the bars, while Naomi brings the angelic vocals.
