Mariah Carey a.k.a The Queen of Christmas is getting her own documentary.
The songbird supreme has partnered with Amazon Music for an upcoming mini-documentary appropriately titled Mariah Carey is Christmas: The Story of “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
The film, which will premiere later this month, will explore the makings of Carey’s modern holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
In addition to Carey herself, the mini-documentary will feature additional commentary from Randy Jackson (Carey’s longtime collaborator); Shirley Halperin (executive editor for music at Variety); Gary Trust (Billboard’s senior director of charts); and Trey Lorenz (Carey’s longtime backup singer and friend).
The highly-successful festive track was released in 1994 and has spent 36 cumulative weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s holiday chart since 2011, making it the highest-charting holiday song in history.
Carey is currently on her All I Want For Christmas Is You Tour, powered by Hallmark. The tour, which coincides with the 25th anniversary of Carey’s Merry Christmas album, will wrap up on December 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
