Anderson .Paak’s live band Free Nationals is setting out to make R&B bands cool again with the release of their self-titled debut album.
The star-studded album oozes classic soul from the ’70s and ’80s and delivers on the electrifying energy the group is known for. The eccentric quartet has been “putting the final touches” on the highly-anticipated project since as early as February 2018.
“We love all of you so much for sticking by us through everything… we just wanted to give you our absolute best,” the group announced on their Instagram. “This is a time capsule for us… A moment where everything came together for us as friends. And now it’s all on wax.”
The 13-track album features appearances from .Paak, Mac Miller, T.I., Kali Uchis, Syd, JID, Daniel Caesar and more. Free Nationals released the Syd-assisted “Shibuya” back in November.
