Soul serenader Alina Baraz is taking fans to the motherland with “Morocco” ahead of the release of her second studio album, It Was Divine.
The 6LACK-assisted jam discusses intercontinental love, with Baraz and 6LACK trading verses about affection that takes them to the North African country and beyond.
“Yeah you take me to another time zone (Time zone) / Without ever even leavin’ my door / Steady ridin’ to another life though (Life though) / Oh, I look up and we in Morocco,” Baraz and 6LACK croon on the song’s chorus.
Baraz’s latest LP will be her first since 2018’s The Color of You. “This album gravitates around love and self. Losing it then finding it,” Baraz said in a statement.
She continues, “A stream of thought, a shift in my perspective. It’s learning how to take care of myself. Nourishing what’s real. Learning how to let go. Learning how to let love in.”
It Was Divine is due out May 5. Baraz released the album’s lead single “To Me” back in 2019.
