Prodigy, the former lead singer of R&B group Mindless Behavior, has returned with his new solo single titled “Like I Always Do.”
On the heartfelt tune, Prodigy contemplates whether or not he should try to make up with his ex-lover.
“I tell myself not to call / Convince my heart not to fall again / But if I’m being honest / I’m drowning in all the silence / I know that I’ma take you back like I always do,” Prodigy sings.
“Like I Always Do” was written and produced by platinum-selling singer/songwriter Jimmie Allen, Sean Small, Tate Howell and Sam Sumser. The release follows Prodigy’s new production deal with Allen and producers Small and Sumser.
“After a long musical hiatus and just regrouping, getting closer to God, learning who I am as a person and praying that the Lord re-open doors for me, my bro Jimmie Allen reached out and said he wanted to work together,” Prodigy said in a statement.
He added, “I knew then that it was time to get back do what I was born to do! I love the song and it has been great working with Jimmie, Sam and Sean.”
