Joy Denalane is keeping the tradition of soul music alive. The German singer-songwriter has recently signed to Motown Records and already has a lot in store. For her first official US release, she has teamed up with labelmate BJ The Chicago Kid for her new single “I Believe.”
She confidently sings about being seen for who you are and where being yourself around your loved ones is enough. Lively horns beef up the track, as Denalane eagerly absorbs the production with her vibrant vocals. Their hearty voices intertwine for an inspiring and spirited track.
“You hung the moon and stars that night for me / And I knew right then and there / For you I’d take a leap of faith ’cause I believe,” Denalane sings on the chorus.
BJ responds in the second verse, “Girl, you take me higher / So high I can’t come down / Ooh, I pray for you / Now I know what I can and can’t live without.”
“I Believe” will be featured on her new album Let Yourself be Loved, set for a September release.
