Ty Dolla $ign is back. The genre-blending artist has teamed up with Kanye West, FKA twigs and Skrillex for his new single “Ego Death.”
Over a pulsating production, Ty Dolla $ign sings about a relationship gone wrong. “Murdered my ego when you walked away / It hurt my ego when you walked away / Gave you my all, that wouldn’t make you stay / Murdered my ego when you walked away,” Ty Dolla $ign sings on the chorus.
West switches up the message with a politically-charged verse. “All these half-way movements, need a whole lot improvement / Everybody wanna talk, everybody wanna type / Ain’t nobody finna do shit / And everybody throwin’ dirt, all that talk won’t work,” he raps. He also shares his thoughts on deeply rooted voter suppression. “Plan B was they Plan A to lower the count of our families / To lower the count on our damn votes,” he adds.
FKA twigs and rising singer serpentwithfeet lend their vocals to the throbbing tune, taking it to another dimension.
