Back in March, Billboard had announced its plans to postpone the 2020 Billboard Music Awards due to the coronavirus pandemic. Today, the nominees were finally announced.
Khalid is up for 12 nominations, including Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top R&B Artist. Lizzo trails behind Khalid with 11 nominations, including Top R&B Artist, Top Female R&B Artist and Top Selling Song (“Truth Hurts”).
Meanwhile, B2K is nominated for Top R&B Tour for their nostaglic Millennium Tour, which included guest appearances from Sammie, Bobby V, Lloyd and more. Janet Jackson is also nominated in the Top R&B Tour category.
Mariah Carey is up for a Billboard Chart Achievement Award, which is a fan-voted category. Voting opens on October 1, according to Billboard.
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards will be held on October 14. Kelly Clarkson will return for the third year as host.
