Santa is going to need another sleigh soon. Sabrina Claudio joins the likes of PJ Morton, JoJo, Keedron Bryant, Tori Kelly, and Tinashe and releases a sultry project of holiday fare titled Christmas Blues.
Claudio uses her enthralling musical gifts to pervade seasonal favorites and classics such as Judy Garland’s “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song.” The soul siren also shares an astonishing rendition of “Oh Holy Night.”
Five original songs make the festive track list, including The Weeknd-assisted title track, as well as the duet “Winter Time” featuring Alicia Keys. Christmas Blues also features “Warm December,” a toasty track that she shared earlier this month.
Speaking on Christmas Blues, Claudio said, “My intention behind creating and indulging into a Christmas album was to attempt to shine a small light through an incredibly dark year for as many people as I can reach.”
She added, “If I have the opportunity to bring a sense of happiness, nostalgia, or calmness to someone with this album, that’s all I could ever ask for. I’m also just a sucker for Christmas time and Christmas music!”
Christmas Blues follows last year’s project Truth Is.
