Samm Henshaw said new music was coming before year-end and he didn’t disappoint. The British soul artist has partnered with Samsung Electronics UK to release his new single “All Good.” The retro-styled track, penned by Henshaw, was birthed after he accepted a songwriting challenge to author a song inspired by a fan photo.
Adopting a raspy cadence similar to Anderson .Paak, Henshaw shares a message of staying calm rather than getting worked up about trivial things.
“I got money in my pocket and some seasoning for my chicken / Why am I stressing? / Won’t even address it / Leave my problems on my nightstand, worries on my dresser,” he sings.
Speaking on his new track, Henshaw said in a press release, “This was such an exciting project, particularly over the last few months when undoubtedly peoples’ creativity may have been challenged. When I first saw the photo, it instantly made me smile and feel happy, so I knew I had to bring that same energy to ‘All Good.'”
He added, “The fact it’s just a photo taken on someone’s Samsung phone, not knowing the how or why, and making it the start of my creative journey is an experience I’ve never had before. I’m so grateful to Samsung for this opportunity, it has opened my mind to new ways of songwriting and definitely something I would explore with future material.”
Most recently, Henshaw stopped by the COLORS headquarters and performed two new songs: “Thoughts and Prayers” and “Still.” Both tracks were produced by Josh Grant.
Henshaw, who is now an unsigned super talent, is readying the release of his debut album in 2021.
