Samm Henshaw went radio silent after releasing two promising singles (“Only One to Blame,” “The World is Mine”) last year.
With the year nearly finished, the freshman act makes a triumphant return and debuts two new songs in live form at the COLORS headquarters.
On “Thoughts and Prayers,” produced by Josh Grant, Henshaw employs a fetching voice and packs the manila-colored studio with it as he challenges his fellow brother’s commitment to making a positive impact on the world. He encourages his hearers to be better doers rather than just keeping the troubles of the world inside their minds or casting them to the Almighty.
“Still Broke” is another Grant-helmed record. Here, Henshaw is reflective at the times when he found himself itching for more means of success without slowing down to be appreciative for his many blessings.
Both songs have yet to be released as standalone singles. Judging from the response of the performances, it might not be long before he and his team upload the tracks to streaming services. They’re the perfect dose of inspiration for these uncertain times.
