Mariah Carey has finally served justice to her underrated 2002 album Charmbracelet with five new EPs: Through the Rain, Boy (I Need You), Bringin’ on the Heartbreak, The One and I Only Wanted. The release is part of the iconic singer/songwriter’s celebratory #MC30 campaign, which launched last year.
Each EP is named after a song from the songbird supreme’s ninth studio set, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. Included on all five projects are the original versions of the song and various mixes of the tracks.
“Through the Rain,” the lead single from the album, peaked at the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2003. Meanwhile, remixes of “Bringin’ on the Heartbreak” produced a top-five hit on the same chart later that year.
Before 2020 ended, Carey made another stop at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with her timeless holiday classic and her almost diamond-certified single “All I Want for Christmas is You.” She also debuted a festive special on Apple TV+, complete with a soundtrack featuring a new version of “Oh Santa,” featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.
