A few R&B veterans are continuing to tap into the film and television world. Lifetime has announced two new films, in partnership with Bishop T.D. Jakes: Lust A Deadly Sins Saga (working title) and Envy: A Deadly Sins Saga (working title). Both are based on two novels from Victoria Christopher Murray’s Seven Deadly Sins anthology.
Keri Hilson and Tank will star in Lust: A Deadly Sins Saga, which premieres on Saturday, April 10 at 8 p.m. ET. The movie follows Tiffanie Cooper (played by Hilson), who is anticipating a major life milestone: getting married to her fiancé Damon King (played by Tobias Truvillion). Things begin to get rocky for Tiffanie when Damon’s old friend and best man Trey Taylor (played by Tank) arrives home from prison. Trey’s alluring presence starts to impact Tiffanie in ways she has never imagined, such as questioning her future with Damon. Lust also stars LeToya Luckett, Clifton Powell and Ms. Juicy.
In Envy: A Deadly Sins Saga, Gabrielle Flores (played by Rose Rollins) is living her best life. She has a devoted husband, a beautiful daughter, and a highly successful PR firm. When Gabrielle learns that she has a half-sister, Keisha (played by Serayah), as the result of her father’s short-term affair, she invites her to come to visit.
Unlike Gabrielle, Keisha didn’t grow up with much and wants more than just a sisterly bond. She wants Gabrielle’s lifestyle and is determined to do whatever it takes to get it. Envy also stars Kandi Burruss, Donovan Christie Jr., Gregory Alan Williams, Da Brat, DC Young Fly, Clifton Powell and Hosea Chanchez. Envy will premiere on Saturday, April 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
In other news, Hilson will star in the upcoming TV One original film, Don’t Waste Your Pretty. The movie will premiere on Sunday, February 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
