On their new single “Waves of Blue,” the duo’s vocalist Majid is lost in the mere existence of an irresistible love interest.
Majid’s shining, melodic tone that channels the kinetic energy of pop&B surfs seamlessly across the crystal blue waters of the ‘80s-akin backbeat, crafted by the duo’s producer Jordan.
In a joint press statement, Majid Jordan compares the song to “staring at the ocean.”
“You’re not in the water, but you’re still getting carried away by its currents,” they said. “It’s the story of someone’s desire to love and be lost in that love. ‘Waves of Blue’ was made at the very beginning of this album, and it only makes sense that we begin our next chapter with this song.”
“Waves of Blue” is the first offering since Majid Jordan’s pair of 2019 songs: “Superstar” and the Khalid-featured “Caught Up.”
Majid Jordan’s last album was 2017’s The Space Between.
