With their return single “Bittersweet” on the verge of cracking the top 10 on R&B radio and Billboard, After 7 — Kevon Edmonds, Keith Mitchell, and Danny ‘SkyHigh’ McClain — has revealed a new date for their Unfinished Business album. It comes out on August 20 via SRG ILS Group/Rose Works. It was previously slated for a May 14 release.
The 15-track album, dedicated to founding member Melvin Edmonds, who died in 2019, will feature an appearance from veteran Stokely. Besides the set’s lead single, it will include the newly released “No Place Like You,” produced by Damon Thomas (Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige).
Kevon Edmonds said the new song “was inspired by the thought of knowing that you can build a house with all the finest materials in the world with the best of everything in it. But in reality, it’s not these things that make a house a home…it’s the love from that special someone.. and only when you’re with them are you truly home.”
Unfinished Business is After 7’s first album since 2016’s Timeless, which featured vocals from Jason Edmonds, the son of Melvin.
