If it’s one thing Raheem DeVaughn knows how to do, it’s to make a song uniquely his own.
The self-proclaimed Love King puts a refreshing twist on “Let It Be,” a classic ’70s number by The Beatles. He also adds pockets of harmonies to amp things up by trading the piano for an organ and bass guitar.
While the original possesses a mellow somberness, DeVaughn brings an energetically uplifting element to the song.
DeVaughn also announced on Instagram that the re-envisioned track is from a new upcoming EP Beatles Soul, slated to be released later this year.
In June, DeVaughn presented Lovesick, a collaborative album with producer Apollo Brown.
