Mack Wilds is back. The Grammy-nominated singer/actor has released “Simple Things,” his first single in four years.
On “Simple Things,” produced by Anwar Sawyer, Wilds reminds his woman to focus on all the experiences they’ve shared in their relationship, despite some of the rocky moments.
“There’s just something different about your love / I could look somewhere else for it / I don’t ask for much but all I want / Is simple things,” he sings on the sonorous tune.
Speaking on his new music, Wilds shared in a statement, “It’s been some time since our last full-on release, and so it made sense to lead with something from my own personal experiences and my heart. Like most of our stories, love just happens to be complicated. So this is just that; a complicated love song.”
In 2019, Wilds shared an unheard track on SoundCloud called “Love Letter.”
Two years prior, he released his 12-song project, AfterHours. It featured guest appearances from Wale, Tink and Cam Wallace.
Aside from music, Wilds has been keeping his acting resume active. He currently stars in the Apple TV+ drama Swagger, opposite O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Quvenzhané Wallis.
This fall, he made his Broadway debut with Thoughts of Colored Man, alongside Luke James. It also stars Dyllón Burnside, Bryan Terrell Clark, Da’Vinchi, Forrest McClendon, and Keith David.
