Aaron Taylor has introduced the gold edit of “Wanna Be Close,” featuring BEKA with an official music video.
Co-directed by Devon Kuziw, the visual finds Taylor seated behind a keyboard and a recording studio mic, where he starts the reimagined track.
BEKA walks down a short staircase to join Taylor and a stirring mini-strings orchestra arranged and conducted by Matt Jones, who’s also present.
Described as his “favourite song on ICARUS,” Taylor connected with it on a more professional level as it relates to his thoughtful songwriting.
Collaborating with BEKA was a no-brainer for Taylor, writing in an Instagram post, “She’s been a friend for a few years and possesses a beautiful tone that I knew would work for the sentiment of the song.”
“Wanna Be Close (Gold Edit)” appears on the newly-released deluxe version of ICARUS. It features all the original songs from his debut album released in September 2020, as well as several gold edits on select tracks, including the title song.
ICARUS was among Rated R&B’s best R&B albums of 2020. Upon its placement on the annual list, Taylor spoke to us about the inspiration behind the album.
