FKA twigs has announced the title and release date of her first mixtape. Caprisongs is due out on Jan. 14, and will mark the singer-songwriter’s first project since 2020’s Magdalene.
The tape’s title is a play-off the kids drink pouches Capri Sun. “CAPRISONGS my journey back to myself through my amazing collaborators and friends,” twigs shared.
Of the project, twigs added, “It’s my stubborn caprisun ass telling me to work thru my pain by delivering at work, don’t think just go studio and create my saggi moon being the enigmatic temptress craving the club, to dance and to be social and my pisce venus hot mess disastrous heart falling in love all over again but this time with music and with myself.”
The tracklist features 17 songs, including “Tears in the Club,” the lead single featuring The Weeknd. It arrived with an accompanying music video.
Other guests on Caprisongs include Daniel Caesar, Jorja Smith, Shygirl, Rema, Unknown T, Pa Salieu, and Dystopia.
Back in early 2021, Twigs revealed that she worked on an album during quarantine. However, it is unclear if this mixtape results from those studio sessions.
