Gemaine reunites with in-demand producer Charlie Heat for his second offering of the year, “Lay It Down.”
Not one for blowing smoke, Gemaine, with songwriting input from Buddy, persuades a beauty of interest to get comfortable at his spot because she’s in for the night of her life.
His delicate falsetto is built for Heat’s production that nods to the old-school work of steamy bedroom jams.
Gemaine’s mission is to satisfy his woman in hopes that she comes back for more and more. By the end of the song, it’s not difficult to decide if he’s successful in his ambitious pursuit.

At this rate, if Gemaine keeps dishing out songs like “Lay It Down” and his previous cut, “No Questions,” he’ll position himself to be one of the rookies bringing back feel-good R&B.
It has not yet been determined whether Gemaine and Heat are releasing a joint project. However, considering what has been released could expand both to each other’s audiences, it would make sense.
Gemaine already joined Heat on his Valentine’s Son project from 2021. A year before that, Gemaine released his album Lefty.
