Paris Price keeps his phone fully charged and its volume high for all notifications. The DMV native’s latest single, “One Call Away,” answers why he chooses to stay on alert, especially when it involves his boo.
The downtempo track, produced by Aidan Carroll, translates how Price is not a casual do not disturb user. In the song, he clearly conveys that he is willing to whatever his plans are when a call or a “WYO” text comes through from a specific interest.
Price sings, “And I’ma play my part / Baby, I’ma be there when the day get dark / Ever since I met you, girl, you made your mark / From the start / Swear to promise I won’t play your heart / If you let me in, I will never treat you like pedestrian / Say you ready, baby let’s begin / I don’t want to waste time.”
Price’s recent track “One Call Away” is refreshing and immediately catches your attention at first listen. It sports all the right notes to be factored into vibe playlists from here on out.
“You have to be vulnerable in relationships — and this is me letting my guard down and opening up about how I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure the love is being reciprocated,” Price explained to Billboard of the new song.
“One Call Away” does not yet have a home on a project or album. It follows Price’s previously shared “Fallin” and “Round the Way,” both released earlier this year.
Price alternates between R&B and hip-hop. In May 2021, Price built some incredible buzz for himself with “Killing Me Slowly” featuring fellow upstarts Chris Patrick and Dende. So far on Spotify, the song has now amassed more than 231,100 streams.
