Emerging singer Forest Claudette has released his new song “Gone Without a Trace.”
Produced by Chris Hartz (Kyle Dion, bLAck pARty), “Gone Without a Trace” finds the Australian-American picking up the pieces to his broken heart after a breakup.
“I packed the boxes like you asked me / They was heavy smelling of you / Some feelings I’ll never lose / But nothing I can do now,” he croons. The lovesick lyrics are juxtaposed by a glossy production that is bound to lift a gloomy mood.
Claudette says “Gone Without a Trace” is based on a true story. “I wrote it after a relationship ended when I was heartbroken,” the 23-year-old explains. “Having so long to reflect on the song was interesting and I think that helped shape it into what you hear now. We got to focus on how it left us feeling, and the nuances of the experience.”
“Gone Without a Trace” is the follow-up to Claudette’s debut single “Creaming Soda.” Both songs will appear on his upcoming EP, slated to release later this year on Warner Records. Of his impending project, Claudette says it will explore his “soft feelings.”
