R&B newcomer Chxrry22 (pronounced “Cherry 22”) has released her debut EP, The Other Side.
Of the EP, Chxrry22, says, “The Other Side is about coming to terms with duality – we all have two sides. We can be both the villain and the victim in some story and this is me owning that.”
On the seven-track project, Chxrry22 takes listeners on her personal journey that includes dealing with the aftermath of a breakup (“The Other Side”), yearning for love (“Do It Again”) and addressing her weaknesses (“Alone”).
“I don’t write about anything I haven’t done or been through so when you hear these songs just know it’s coming from my heart. Right or wrong imma stand on my sh*t,” Chxrry22 wrote in an Instagram caption.
Chxrry22 makes a great first impression with The Other Side — from her storytelling lyrics, which feel like pages out of her diary, to her angelic voice that flutters over the production.
