Marques Houston has returned with a new single titled “Coming Back.” It was produced by Eif Keyz and co-written by Houston and Dave Young.
Over fluttering strings that are paired with airy oohs and aahs, Houston sings about a love that is irresistible. No matter what issues may arise, he knows that his heart is safe with his significant other.
“The inspiration behind the song is that no matter what me and my wife are going through, I always come back to her,” Houston exclusively tells Rated R&B. “When I feel like the world is closing in on me from all the pressures of success or expectations, I find myself coming back to her as my safe zone.”
“Coming Back” is the first offering from Houston’s upcoming EP, ME: Dark Water, which releases Nov. 4 via Phoenix Music Group. The six-track EP, a follow-up to his surprise album ME that dropped in February, will feature Ray J and Monteco.

Houston says he “went more current” on his upcoming project. “I know a lot of people want that nostalgic R&B feel, which the EP still has. But I wanted to step out of my comfort zone,” he tells Rated R&B. “It was really fun recording this project. ME: Dark Water is more of an edgier side.”
ME marked Houston’s first album since 2013’s Famous. The 14-track LP featured appearances from Chrissy, Aqu@Riu$, Earanequa and PRNCE.
Houston accompanied the project with four music videos: “Forever’s Not Long Enough,” “Just To Have You,” “Half On It” and “Let It Go” featuring Chrissy.
