Marques Houston ends his nearly nine-year hiatus with Me. The surprise new album is the follow-up to 2013’s Famous.
In keeping up with the dazed nature of today’s R&B scene, Houston fits right in with songs like the melodically romancing “Lover,” where he races against the clock to please his number-one woman.
Despite seeing his lady earlier in the day, Houston finds himself experiencing withdrawals from the lack of “Connection.” The piano-driven “One in a Million” merits adult R&B love, as it makes for the ideal single to impact R&B radio soon.
In tandem with the release of his Me album, Houston stars in the Tubi original film, Howard High, out now. He joins the cast that includes Keith Sweat, Anthony Lewis, Chrissy, Nequa, and others.
Some of Houston’s Howard High co-stars appear on his latest offering Me.
