Grammy-winning singer SZA collects more awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) this month. Her sophomore album, SOS, is now certified platinum for selling one million equivalent units.

A few songs from the chart-topping album also received new RIAA certifications. “Low,” “Nobody Gets Me,” Shirt” and “Blind” are now certified gold. Each song has sold over 500,000 equivalent units.

“Good Days,” the lead single,” moves up to 4x multi-platinum, selling four million copies. The album’s latest focus track, “Kill Bill,” is certified platinum, while “I Hate U” ups to double platinum.

SOS, which reigned at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks, is SZA’s second project to achieve platinum status. Her critically-acclaimed debut, Ctrl, was certified 3x multi-platinum in 2022.

Speaking of Ctrl, a few of its tracks have gained new certifications. “Go Gina” and “20 Something” are now platinum, while “Supermodel” is 2x multi-platinum.

On Feb. 21, SZA will launch her SOS North American Tour in Columbus, Ohio. Rising singer Omar Apollo will join her. They will play in arenas in major cities such as Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta and Seattle. The tour concludes March 22 in Los Angeles, California, at Kia Forum.

SOS was released Dec. 9, 2022, via Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records. The 23-track album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 318,000 equivalent units sold in the first week. It marked SZA’s first chart-topper on the Billboard 200.

“I think this album was partially inspired by love lost, but mostly inspired by my departure from attempting to be a nice girl. I’ve tried to be a nice girl for so long and it’s just not who I am, inherently,” SZA told Rolling Stone.

She added, “And I think I’ve done nice things and I am a kind person, but I’m not a nice girl. And that’s okay. And I think coming to terms with that and really expanding upon that and exploring that is kind of like this new chapter in my life.”
