Dinner Party, the supergroup composed of Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin and Kamasi Washington, made their late-night television show debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! They delivered their first televised performance of “Insane” with Ant Clemons.

Filmed in a living room stage design, Dinner Party assumed their positions with their respective instruments while Clemons, wearing his signature red beanie, vibed along with his chill vocals.

“Insane” is Dinner Party’s lead single from their sophomore album, Enigmatic Society, which dropped last week. The collaboration, produced by Sounwave and Martin, features a timeless sample of Mtume’s 1983 hit “Juicy Fruit.”

Following the release of “Insane,” Dinner Party kept steady with the Enigmatic Society promotion with the second song, “For Granted,” featuring Arin Ray.

Ray makes vocal contributions on two other tracks, “Love Love” and “Breathe.” Additional guest spots come from Phoelix and Tank.

At the time of this publishing, Enigmatic Society is No. 1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Albums chart. This achievement could have everything to do with Dinner Party’s recent appearance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Dinner Party returns for weekend two of Coachella on April 22 in Indio, California.

Enigmatic Society is Dinner Party’s follow-up to their 2020 self-titled debut album and its deluxe version, Dinner Party: Dessert.

The latter edition, narrated by Snoop Dogg, included features from Herbie Hancock, Bilal, Rapsody, Alex Isley, Tank and the Bangas, Buddy and more.

Dinner Party: Dessert was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022. The award ultimately went to Table for Two by Lucky Daye.
