Rising R&B singer-songwriter Liza has returned with her new single “Give In.”
Produced by Michael Sonier and Colin Munroe, “Give In” is a breezy tune that captures the idea of falling in love, while delicately exploring the whirlwind of emotions that may arise, including apprehension.
“I could try to fight / It wouldn’t matter / Every time I try / I fall deeper into you / I can’t deny / I’m breaking all my rules / I can’t help but give in to you,” Liza sings in the chorus.
Speaking on “Give In,” Liza tells Rated R&B, “My 2021 EP, DONE IS DONE, highlighted a heartbreak that I went through and I feel like I got stuck in the world of writing sad songs. As much as I love my ‘sad’ songs, I’m excited to share the new work I’ve been writing, which truly captures the bubbly and hopeful side of me, sonically and lyrically.”

“Give In” is Liza’s first taste of new music since 2022’s EGO, a two-track set that included the songs “Room” and “I Lost a Friend.” In the same year, she also released a song titled “A Little Bit More.”
“Give In” will appear on the Ethiopian-Canadian’s upcoming EP, which will follow 2021’s DONE IS DONE. The latter project included Liza’s popular track “Lansdowne,” which has 4.7 million streams on Spotify at the time of publication.
Liza previously told Rated R&B, “To me, DONE IS DONE is about accepting the end of something even without closure and learning how to let go and move on from a given situation. It’s allowing yourself to see the end and allowing yourself to grow and learn from a situation/relationship.”
