Kandi Burruss is looking to be added to cuffing season playlist everywhere with her spicy new single “Only for You.” She co-wrote and co-produced the sexy tune with Jonathan “Jay-O” Henry and Roderick Lawrence.
With the self-explanatory title “Only for You,” Kandi affirms that she saves her naughty side and love syrup for her man alone.
“It brings me pleasure every time I’m pleasing you / Can’t get no better, it just wetter when it’s you,” she sings sensually.
“Only for You” arrives with a smoldering, seductive video directed by Derek Blanks, which can be viewed below.
It was revealed on Instagram that Kandi had the instrumental track “Only for You” in her vault for a few years. It is definitely a winner for those who are suckers for an irresistible hook.
“Only for You” is Kandi’s first song release since 2022’s “If I Get Caught.” The latter song is a response to R&B duo dvsn’s controversial track of the same name and features Tiny of Xscape, Kandi’s Grammy-winning collaborator.
“Ladies, we couldn’t let #dvsn get away with that toxic ass song #IfIGotCaught! So me & @majorgirl had to pull out our pen & represent for the ladies,” Kandi wrote in an Instagram caption.
Prior to this remix, Kandi released “It’s You,” a previously unreleased duet with late Gerald Levert in early 2022.
In other Kandi-related news, Kandi recently wrapped season 15 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. During the season, she shared behind-the-scenes details of The Pass, a romantic thriller that she executive produced with her husband, Todd Tucker, who also wrote the script.
Kandi was nominated for Tony and an Emmy during season 15 of RHOA. She was the executive producer (along with her husband) for August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson, which received a Tony nod for Best Revival of a Play, and was also nominated for a Southeast Emmy for La Musica de La Familia.
Kandi and her husband are producers for the revival of The Wiz, which launched its first Broadway-bound tour in 40 years this week. The production stars Deborah Cox as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, and Avery Wilson as Scarecrow. For more information, visit wizmusical.com.
