Alt-soul singer and songwriter Kyle Dion’s new single “Let’s Get It On” shows his affinity for the legendary Marvin Gaye.
The Soran-produced track is aptly titled after the 1973 classic by Gaye. It’s a deliriously lustful song where Dion expresses his desire to please his partner with some good loving. The couple not only spends their time in the bedroom but also enjoy a spontaneous night out.
“Let’s make sure that dress of yours don’t go to waste / I don’t even know what we’re about to do / Wherever you go you got an eye on you / They can look but they can’t have a bite of you,” Dion sings.
“Let’s Get It On” is Dion’s second single release of the year. In August, Dion ended his hiatus with “Boyfriend Jeans,” a song co-produced with Ziggy Stry and Blake Strauss.
All two songs are set to appear on Dion’s upcoming EP, which will be released on Position Music. No official release date has been announced at this time. However, according to press materials, the project will be out later this year.
Dion spent the last year promoting his sophomore album, Sassy, which was released in September 2021. In a 2021 interview with Rated R&B, Dion revealed that Michael Jackson’s Bad album was, in part, the inspiration behind his second album.
“Bad, one of my favorite albums from Michael, was a pop-leading album and kind of this bad attitude in his own way,” Dion commented. “I feel like this [album] was my rendition of that in a sense of a bit of pop, giving more attitude, being a little raunchy, and just having fun and being who I really am.”
The following summer, Dion added four new tracks to Sassy, including “Spoon & Bang,” which featured Joyce Wrice as his love interest in the visualizer. The updated version also included “Dance For Me,” a pre-deluxe single.
Most recently, Dion contributed backing vocals to Kiana Ledé’s sophomore album, Grudges.
