Janet Jackson has expanded her Together Again Tour with new dates in Hawaii, Philippines, and Japan.
The second leg of Jackson’s headlining tour includes two nights in Honolulu on March 8 and 9, 2024. Before ending on March 20, she will perform in Manila and Japan for three dates.
Legendary R&B group TLC will join Jackson as a supporting act in Japan.
Starting Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. local time, residents of Hawaii will have exclusive pre-sale access to the Hawaii dates. No password is required for this online exclusive.
Tickets go on sale to the public for Manila and Hawaii dates Nov. 25, while Japan tickets go on sale on Jan. 13, 2024.
The first leg of Jackson’s Together Again Tour with Ludacris as a supporting act spanned North America from April to June. Rap icon Lil’ Kim subbed for Ludacris at a concert in Allentown, Pennsylvania, while he was receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Jackson hit the road to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her sixth album, The Velvet Rope, which includes the No. 1 hit “Together Again.”
In October 2022, Jackson celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Velvet Rope with a deluxe edition containing ten bonus tracks. The new additions are alternate remixes and club mixes of select tracks.
Jackson is currently working on a second feature documentary with A&E and Lifetime Networks. Her most recent album, Unbreakable, was released in 2015.
She announced a new album, Black Diamond, in early 2020, which was supposed to accompany a world tour. She explained the meaning of the term ‘black diamond’ in a 2020 Instagram post.
“Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut. I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy,” Jackson wrote.
“There’s a lot that I endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength.”
Earlier this year, producer Harmony Samuels revealed to Rated R&B that he returned to the studio to work on new music with Jackson.
The two collaborated in 2018 on “Made For Now” featuring Daddy Yankee, but a planned mini project was never released.
In recent news, Jackson is set to perform at a concert on Dec. 1 in Houston, Texas, to commemorate World AIDS Day.
The show is co-presented by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and follows her headlining performance at ONEMusic Fest in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this fall.
