R&B veteran Jon B. has announced his forthcoming studio album, Waiting on You, will release sometime in 2024.
His new album, which is in its final stages of completion, will mark his first full-length of new material since 2012’s Comfortable Swag.
Waiting on You will consist of 11 tracks and include guest appearances by Donell Jones, Alex Isley, Tank and Rick Ross.
It has not been announced if the collaboration with Jones will be their 2019 song “Understand.”
Jon B. gives fans a taste of his upcoming album with the release of a new single, which is a title track. He co-wrote and co-produced the single with Tank, who is also featured on the song.
“‘Waiting on You’ describes the feeling of anticipating love in your life, the seasons of waiting,” Jon B. explains. “No matter the timing, even when it seems like it’s taking forever, you have to be patient for your partner in life. Not giving up makes it all worth the wait.”
This isn’t the first time Jon B. and Tank have worked together on a song or title track. The two crooners joined forces in 2004 on “Stronger Everyday,” the titular song from Jon B.’s album released that same year.
“Waiting on You” is Jon B.’s first song release since 2019’s “Priceless.” It has yet to be confirmed if the latter song will appear on his next album.
Jon B.’s Waiting on You will serve as “a continuation of his artistic expression and musicianship that has captivated the hearts of R&B enthusiasts since his debut album, Bonafide,” according to press materials.
On Dec. 15, Jon B. will join DJ Quik as a supporting act at his show at The Novo in Los Angeles, California. He also has a few shows lined up for winter 2024. For more information, visit his official website.
