Rising R&B singer TeaMarrr has released her debut album, You Should Prolly Sit Down for This, via Raedio.
The 13-track offering includes the previously shared songs “Stunt Double,” “PutItInACoffin,” “Black Is Blue,” and “LA LA Land.”
You Should Prolly Sit Down for This invites listeners on an honest journey that dives into themes of homesickness, mental health, substance abuse, relationship woes, serenity, self-love and more.
In true TeaMarrr fashion, the Haitian-American artist narrates each story with candid lyrics, allowing listeners to vividly envision each experience and emotion she pours into the album.
“This album is about the church girl from the East Coast who takes a wild turn in the wild wild west and ends up lost in the belly of the beast. It’s a musical map guiding her way back,” TeaMarrr explains.

You Should Prolly Sit Down for This is the follow-up to TeaMarrr’s 2020 project, Before I Spill Myself, released on Raedio and Atlantic Records.
Speaking on Before I Spill Myself, TeaMarrr noted that it “touches the beginning middle and end of what sharing yourself with someone new romantically feels like.”
Though her first official album was just released, TeaMarrr already has her eyes set on a new EP, KITEA CAT. There are no details about the EP at this time other than it’s “in the works.”
