Emerging R&B singer and songwriter Jack Freeman has released his third album, Nina.
The 10-track offering, which includes the previously shared tracks “Shine” and “U N D R E S S,” takes listeners through love’s highs and lows.
“Nina is an idea. She’s a symbol of your greatest loves, your biggest heartbreak, and everything in between,” Freeman shared in a social media post. “You’re gonna walk away refreshed that we did our part to contribute such well done work to this thing we call RnB.”
The featureless project includes production and songwriting by Bryan-Michael Cox, Adonis Shropshire, Lab Ox, Chris Rockaway, Kristine Kruta and Felly The Voice.
Cox produced the album’s second single, “U N D R E S S,” as well as “Anything,” “MVP” and “On This Day.”
The latter Afrobeats-tinged track is steeped in heartbreak and longing. Here, Freeman reflects on a past relationship that still casts a shadow over his thoughts.
“All these memories / Only bring misery / Only bring misery / Keep reminiscing on the pain you caused me / A tragic history / Oh, no nobody loved you like I did,” Freeman croons on the Cox-helmed tune.”
“When I first witnessed Jack Freeman perform in Houston, I immediately recognized him as an artist I wanted to collaborate with,” says Cox.
“To me, he embodies the essence of contemporary soul music. His vocal prowess, stage presence, and authenticity made him an ideal candidate for a partnership at Illustrate New Ideas.”
Nina is the follow-up to Freeman’s 2018 album, Define Love.
