Kenyon Dixon has released his new single “Still.” The Grammy-nominated singer produced the self-penned track with Frank Rose.
“Still” is as warm and gentle as a summer breeze, making it an ideal jam for a brunch outing or a kickback. On the balmy track, Dixon croons about a former lover who continues to dance around his mind.
“Been searching ever since / Tryna find something new / Every road I take just leads me back to you / Recalling memories, I just end up confused / I love the rhythm we had but hate the blues,” Dixon sings.
“This record, to me, is a celebration of the timeless essence of true R&B,” Dixon exclusively tells Rated R&B. “You often hear a lot of complaints about either a lack of tempo in R&B music or the music no longer feeling like traditional R&B if it does have tempo. This one, though, has the energy and never loses the soul. [It] captures the carefree vibes of those R&B summers we remember.”
“Still” is the first offering from The R&B You Love: For the ‘99 and the 2000s, the second installment of the deluxe edition of Dixon’s 2023 album, The R&B You Love You.
In March, Dixon released The R&B Love: Soul of the ’70s as the first of multiple installments of the deluxe edition of The R&B You Love. As its title suggests, Soul of the ’70s featured sweet sounds that pay homage to the golden age of soul.
“These installments of the deluxe are super intentional,” Dixon told Rated R&B. “I’m such a fan of the music that got us here. I always want to find a way to pay homage to our musical pioneers and heroes.”
On May 25, Dixon will kick off his R&B You Love Tour at the TwoGether Land Festival in Dallas. The tour will make stops in Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and more before concluding July 28 in Los Angeles.
