After much anticipation, Normani has released her new single “Candy Paint,” produced by Starrah and Tommy Brown.
Arriving just in time for summer, “Candy Paint” is a twerk-worthy bop loaded with confidence-boosting lyrics.
“I’m a baddie and I don’t know how to act / Booty candy painted with the diamond in the back,” she sings on the knocking production.
“Candy paint is out everywhere,” Normani wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Wanted to start my birthday off right and know that you guys have been asking. you already know the visuals are brewing but until then here y’all goooo. love you to the moon.”
Normani previously teased “Candy Paint” in a Bose ad. In a 2023 interview with Billboard, Normani explained the song was inspired by her home state, Texas.

“I really wanted to create a record that allowed me to show my personality,” she said. “I think that people think I’m so serious, which is the complete opposite [of me]. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m really funny. I’m a goofball! I love to twerk. I’m regular. I really wanted to create a record that encompassed that and allowed my personality to shine.”
“Candy Paint” is the second single from Normani’s debut album, Dopamine, out June 14 via RCA Records. She reintroduced her new era with “1:59” featuring Gunna. The sultry track debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
The highly awaited project releases June 14 via RCA Records.
