Ariana Grande has released the video for her single “The Boy Is Mine” and it features a special cameo from R&B icons Brandy and Monica.
The cinematic video, directed by Christian Breslauer, opens with the R&B legends as broadcast journalists reporting breaking news on Mayor Max Starling, played by Penn Badgley, holding a press conference to address the city’s rat infestation. Grande, who is obsessed with the mayor, goes on a mission as Catwoman to get up close with her crush.
Grande went to social media to express her gratitude for having Brandy and Monica included in the video. “You have no idea what this means to me. I am still convinced that I am dreaming it all,” she posted to her 378 million followers on Instagram Stories.
