The 18-city tour kicks off Aug. 24 at BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, Alabama. From there, Hathaway will make travel across the U.S., hitting major cities such as New Orleans, Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and more.

The tour concludes Sept. 28 at Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina.

Presale tickets for the Vantablack Tour begin Wednesday, June 12, at 12 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. local time.

“Vantablack was always the name of the project. The word itself has so much weight on it, I was really unsure of how to approach the idea of writing the song. At the time, what I thought were conflicting perspectives, actually began to shape the concept of not only this album but also how I saw myself,” Hathaway explained.

“I started reframing how I saw color, in terms of being the Blackest I’ve ever been, and even though I’m steeped in who I am, it doesn’t exclude the other things that make up the sum of me. Similar to how all the music around me informs the Black music that I create. So it’s all a melting pot, and this song truly exemplifies that.”

Vantablack is preceded by the singles “So In Love,” “I Am,” and “Mood For You” featuring MC Lyte. It will feature additional collaborations with Rapsody, Common, WILLOW, Phonte, Michael McDonald, and Gerald Albright.
