Victoria Monét lends her voice to the soundtrack for Star Wars: The Acolyte. The Grammy-winning singer‘s new track “Power of Two,” produced by her longtime collaborator D’Mile, is an original end-credit song for the series.

“Power of Two” is equally gut-wrenching and soothing. Monét balances the melancholic lyrics (“Parts of me will die with you / And I think it’s gonna be the good parts”) with meditative hums and da-da-dums. It’s as if the heartache is so severe that she naturally finds a way to alleviate the pain.

She later sings in the second verse, “Thought I had a life with you / You know the power of two (The power of two)/  But tell me, where was your heart / When you were destiny apart?”

“Having my song be a part of the classic Star Wars franchise via The Acolyte is such an honor,” says Monét. “I’m thrilled for everyone to hear it when they see how it ties into the overall storyline! D’Mile and I had a great time making the song and hope the world loves it as much as we do.”

D’Mile wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I did an original song for Star Wars!” punctuated with a shocked emoji.

Per the logline, “In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….”

The series also stars Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The Acolyte is now streaming on Disney+.
