Genre-bending artist BLK ODYSSY has returned with his third album, 1-800-FANTASY, via Earthchild/EMPIRE.
When listeners dial into this 13-track concept album, they’ll be immersed in an eclectic soundscape that defies boundaries.
“I’m very excited about this album because it bridges the gap between R&B, alternative rock, and punk,” BLK ODYSSY tells Rated R&B.
“We’ve kept the integrity of the BLK ODYSSY sound that everyone knows, but we’ve also managed to develop and evolve it to a place where it can really broaden our fan base.”
1-800 FANTASY is best consumed from start to finish. It is a coming-of-age story that explores themes of desire, obsession, heartache, and mental health.
The album was preceded by the singles “Want You,” “XXX” featuring Wiz Khalifa, “Stank Rose” with Joey Bada$$, and “Changes.” Harry Edohoukwa and Jackie Giroux are also featured on the album.

“1-800 FANTASY has been the most exciting and liberating album for me to work on. Between exploring a new level of storytelling and also a new world of production and songwriting, this record has been a new chapter for me as an artist,” shares BLK ODYSSY.
“It felt like if Paramore or Blink 182 got in the studio with OutKast in the early 2000s. That’s where this record brought me. It feels fresh but it also strikes a cord of nostalgia, which is what made it special for me.”
1-800 FANTASY is the follow-up to BLK ODYSSY’s 2023 album, Diamonds & Freaks. The latter project features collaborations with Bootsy Collins, The Alchemist, Cory Henry, KIRBY, Rapsody, and more.
Regarding Diamonds & Freaks, he shared that it “addresses the concept of love and lust. The album has four chapters which represent the different phases of love and lust.”
On Aug. 31, BLK ODYSSY will kick off the North American leg of his Fantasy House Tour at Antone’s Nightclub in Austin, Texas.
He will make stops in Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Toronto, and Chicago before concluding on Oct. 1 at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.
