New Jersey native Honey Bxby and New York rapper Fivio Foreign have teamed up for a new song, “Bonnie & Clyde.”
On the R&B-drill track, the two artists profess their devotion and loyalty to their respective lovers. “She hold me down when I bring her out,” Fivio Foreign raps in the first verse.
Honey Bxby responds in verse two, singing, “Long as you do right, I’ll be right by you / Lovin’ you, we in tune / As soon as you leave out / Checking in on you / Making sure you’re cool.”
Speaking on her new song, Honey Bxby tells Rated R&B, “‘Bonnie & Clyde’ was pretty fun to record, especially because of the topic of just being a ride-or-die with your lover, a topic I haven’t really touched on before. I used to be obsessed with Bonnie & Clyde’s story, so for me and Fivio to put our spin on it musically feels like a full circle moment.”
In the Rock Davis-directed video, which can be watched below, Honey Bxby and Fivio Foreign are on the run in a police chase.
“Bonnie & Clyde” marks a new era for Honey Bxby, who released her debut EP, 3 Words, 8 Letters, in 2023.
“I came up with the idea of the 3 Words, 8 Letters based off of the songs that were picked for the EP because some of them were a little bit snappier or me being romantic and others were very much like, ‘I want to kill you guys,’” Honey Bxby told Rated R&B.
In April, Honey Bxby released a deluxe edition of the project, which included a new remix of her single “Touchin'” featuring rap legend Busta Rhymes and another version featuring rising rap act Kaliii.
