Emerging singer Natanya wants to rekindle an old flame on her new single “Boombox.”
Co-produced by Natanya and Jkarri, “Boombox” finds the North West Londoner singing: “Baby, sick of sending all my many calls to your phone / But it would haunt me more if I didn’t let you know / That we were all I dreamed for.”
Speaking on her new single, Natanya tells Rated R&B, “In old rom-coms, people used to hold up boomboxes to windows to get someone back. I feel like this is my boombox song.”
“Boombox” is accompanied by a Claryn Chong-directed music video, which can be viewed below.
“Boombox” is Natanya’s first musical release since her 2023 debut EP, Sorrow At Sunrise. The project included her popular tracks “Raining Tomorrow” and “Angel.”
In June, Natanya supported Destin Conrad on the European leg of his Submissive Tour. “There hasn’t been an experience on this journey that could match dis,” Natanya wrote in an Instagram post.
“I made most of those demos in my room & only a week or two b4 i was doing my uni exams, i learnt so much strength & resilience – how 2 rly put the work in, how 2 give my all every night, no matter what. there r only a few moments where u sit and think oh, i rly wanna do this, this was one of them.”
