Chase Shakur is waiting in the wings on his new single “Limerence.”
Produced by Go Grizzly, Squat Beats, and London Jae, “Limerence” finds Shakur anticipating the right moment to shoot his shot at an old fling experiencing relationship woes.
“I know what you going through, girl / That man couldn’t hold your heart for nothing / But I’m coming to you, f—k that s—t / Know you love my s—t, fell in love like this,” he sings.
“Limerence” is the follow-up to Shakur’s “Passenger Seat Princess” with Destin Laurel. Both tracks will appear on his debut album, Wonderlove, which is coming soon on Def Jam Recordings.
“My debut album, Wonderlove, is the best work me and my team have done so far, and ‘Limerence’ is a part of that work,” Chase Shakur tells Rated R&B. “I really wanted to release it as a single because it’s different than my other work. It has a different feel, a different vibe, and I’m excited for fans to enter the world of Wonderlove.”
In March, Shakur released The Stunt-Man Pack, a double single featuring the tracks “Yolanda” and “Options.”
“Stunt-Man Pack has a little something for everyone. I wanted to put two tracks together that felt different, but that a lot of people could relate to,” said Shakur. “I’ve been working on my album and this is some of my favorite music that I’ve ever made. I’m really excited for fans to hear it.”
Wonderlove will follow the Atlanta native’s 2023 EP, It’s Not You, It’s Me. The project followed his 2022 EP, I’ll Be Fine.
