Anthony Hamilton has returned with “QUEEN,” his first single in three years, via his label My Music Box in partnership with BMG.
The uplifting track is a love letter celebrating the impact of Black women on his life.
“(Incredible) The way you put in work and you handle it / (Incredible) Girl when you come through they know what it is / (Incredible) girl you’re the truth, they can’t handle you,” Hamilton croons in verse one.
“QUEEN” was produced by longtime collaborators Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal, and includes a writing credit from Eric Bellinger.
Regarding his new single, Hamilton shares, “I’m surrounded by QUEENS. I was raised by QUEENS. Some who never knew their value or the influence they had on me. It’s not only my duty as a Black King, but my right to celebrate, support and respect them. I was birthed by a QUEEN.”

“QUEEN” marks the launch of a new musical era for Hamilton. It’s his first solo single since his 2021 album, Love Is The New Black.
“When creating this album, I wanted people to feel. I’m going into a new era and mindset expecting greatness, love, and peace,” Hamilton explained. “I wanted this album to feel like what was missing throughout the pandemic. This is the restoration. We’re making this thing called life, sexy, beautiful, and powerful again.”
Love Is The New Black included the lead single “You Made a Fool of Me,” also produced by Durpi and Seal. The heartwrenching song peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart. The album also featured Jennifer Hudson, Rick Ross, and Lil Jon.
Since releasing his 2021 album, Dr. Anthony Hamilton has collaborated with Eric Roberson (“Lessons Remix“), LaToya London (“On Everything“) and most recently, Louis York (“Alone A Lot“). The latter song appears on the musical duo’s sophomore album, Songs With Friends.
