R&B veteran Tiffany Evans has questions for her partner on her new single “Would You.”

On the ’90s-inspired jam, Evans’ buttery vocals melt into the Dreek Beatz production as she gives an estranged lover an ultimatum. “If it wasn’t all right, why’d you let me think that? / Tell me now, I need facts / Prove you want your girl back,” she sings in the first verse.

“Would You” underscores the push and pull in relationships — knowing when to stay or when it’s time to leave. Evans doesn’t attempt to know all the answers, as part of her longs to make things work. “Do you think of me like I think of you? / Do special things like I tend to do / Oh, do you even care to lose me?” she continues in the chorus.

Speaking on her new song, Evans exclusively tells Rated R&B, “‘Would You’ showcases sensual vulnerability to me. I’m not saying that I’m unsure of myself. But sometimes, being reassured by your man does a lot. If I feel like you’re playing with me, there’s some things I need to know and some decisions that need to be made, pronto.”

Evans continues, “I feel like in most recent times, women have felt the need to come off as extremely tough in their dealings with men. It’s as if we need to be like them in order to get what we want. I want us to take our power back. And no, it doesn’t mean we have to be walked on. But living like a ruff ryder in love is a trap, especially if that’s not who you really are. Princess treatment, or you lost me!”

“Would You” is the lead single from Evans’ long-awaited EP that will arrive this year. The forthcoming project will follow her 2015 EP, All Me, which included the Fetty Wap-assisted single “On Sight” plus standouts like “Talk a Good Game.”

In December 2024, Evans released her self-penned track “Reset” to introduce her new era of music.

“‘Reset’ is for anyone who has ever thought it was too late to start over. This is my personal conviction and message to myself,” Evans told Rated R&B. “When I wrote ‘Reset,’ I had to look in the mirror and face some of my insecurities head-on. It was a deep but necessary conversation.”

While “Reset” is not an official single, it will appear on Evans’ new EP. A release date has not been confirmed for the project at this time.
