Alt-R&B singer Roy Woods is ready to right his wrongs on his new song “Stay With Me.”
On the moody track, produced by Dimi Andic and Carrie Lin, Woods begs his romantic partner for forgiveness after his infidelity. “Girl, tell me what I gotta do for your love,” he sings in the chorus.
Speaking on his new song, Woods explains, “‘Stay With Me’ is a song about me cheating and being toxic. I messed up with someone really good and, a part of me still regrets that. I asked her to stay, and she tried but it never worked out.”
“Stay With Me” is paired with a blue-hued visualizer, which can be watched below.

“Stay With Me” follows Woods EP Rolling Stone, released in December 2024 via OVO Sound.
In an interview with Rated R&B, Woods revealed that the seven-track project is the prelude to Wood’s upcoming third album.
“This project is mixed in a little with the album,” Woods told Rated R&B. “The songs on [Rolling Stone] are good enough to be on the album that is coming. This is the calm before the storm. It was a nice mix of me just working on the album, and then I said, ‘You know what? I think before we get to the album, we need to show them why I’m heartbroken in the first place.'”
According to press materials, Woods’ forthcoming project “dives further into themes of heartbreak, late nights, complicated relationships, and dysfunctional love.”
In 2023, Woods released his second album, Mixed Emotions, which included the singles “Bad Bad,” “Insecure,” “Don’t Love Me,” “Young Boy Problems” and “Test What I Know.”
Regarding his creative transition from Mixed Emotions to Rolling Stone, Woods told Rated R&B, “It was a natural transition. It just kind of happened. We said, ‘OK, let’s see how we can show people this world that I’m in right now.’ It was a lot of situations that led me from the artist that I was on Mixed Emotions to Rolling Stone, within my own relationships and stuff like that. I feel like we just said, ‘You know what? We need to show this side of you to the world now instead of keeping it so tucked away.'”
