Grammy-winning R&B/pop star Ciara has returned with her new sultry single “Ecstasy.”
On the pillowy track, co-written by Ciara, Courtlin Jabrae and Theron Thomas, she finds herself intoxicated by her man’s bedroom magic.
“My body comes alive / When you get real close / You gon’ be surprised / If I get exposed / ‘Cause you’re like a hit of ecstasy / I can feel all inside / And baby, I’m on one tonight,” she purrs in the chorus.
Ciara is no stranger to crafting spellbinding slow-burners. In fact, while she’s known for her high-energy anthems, her slow and mid-tempo cuts are the backbone of her catalog. As such, “Ecstasy” is a natural addition to her collection of bedroom-ready jams like “Body Party” “Like A Surgeon” and “DUI,” among others.
“Ecstasy” is paired with an alluring music video directed by Diane Martel, who directed some of Ciara’s iconic visuals such as “Promise,” “Like A Boy” and “Ride.”

“Ecstasy,” Ciara’s first musical release of 2025, will appear on the singer’s highly awaited eighth studio album, CiCi, which releases July 11 via her label Beauty Marks Entertainment.
The project is an extension of her 2023 EP, also titled CiCi, which included her RIAA gold-certified hit “How We Roll” with Chris Brown.
“I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP,” Ciara exclusively told Rated R&B. “This project is the start of really exciting things to come, but most importantly, I want my fans to know that the Ci Ci they have always loved is in her R&B bag.”
The album CiCi will include all the tracks from the EP, plus her club-ready bangers “Wassup” featuring Busta Rhymes and “Run It Up” featuring BossMan Dlow.
On Thursday evening (April 3), Ciara joined a fan-hosted Space on X (formerly Twitter) to discuss “Ecstasy” and answer a few fan questions. She teased that her upcoming album has “so much flavor and sauce” and confirmed that she has plans to tour.
