Emerging pop-R&B singer Joe Leone has released his new song “Where Have You Been” via Eric Benét‘s JBR Creative Group.
On the soulful track, livened by warm guitar, airy percussion, and a head-nodding bassline, a lovestruck Leone wonders what took him so long to finally find his soulmate. At heart, it’s a wish that he could have fallen in love with them sooner — without all the detours along the way.
“Where have you been all my life? / ‘Cause without you I been wasting time / Should’ve fell in love in ’99 / Swear they made you for me how I like,” Leone sings in the chorus.
Speaking on his new single, Leone shares, “The song ‘Where Have You Been’ is about finding the kind of love that’s so perfect you feel pissed off that you ever tried loving someone else. It’s about finding a true partner in crime, one you wish had been around your whole life – that last puzzle piece kind of love.”

“Where Have You Been” is Leone’s second single of 2025. In early May, he released the syrupy jam “Discipline,” produced by Camper.
Regarding “Discipline,” Leone explained, “Every now and then, we find ourselves in a sticky situation when it comes to love. Love can be so wrong for all kinds of reasons, but that doesn’t stop it from feeling so right.”
Leone is currently supporting October London and Tamar Braxton on their The October Nights: Calling All Lovers Tour. They have upcoming stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Oakland before concluding in Las Vegas on June 1.
In a 2024 interview with Rated R&B, Eric Benét mentioned signing Leone to JBR, describing him as a “super talented guy, who is a multi-instrumentalist and has an interestingly beautiful voice.”
