The 2025 BET Awards aired live Monday night (June 9) from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the star-studded ceremony was packed with memorable moments, including a 106 & Park tribute celebrating the iconic music countdown show’s 25th anniversary. The segment featured performances from several artists who helped define that era, including Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, Amerie, Bow Wow, T.I. and Jim Jones.

Culture’s Biggest Night also featured performances by Ultimate Icon Award recipients Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin. Jamie Foxx, another honoree, was treated to a tribute performance by Babyface, Tank, Jennifer Hudson, Ludacris and Craig Robinson.

Several awards were presented during the broadcast. SZA was crowned Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while rising star Leon Thomas, who performed his hit “Mutt,” took home the Best New Artist award.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown, who is currently on his Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour, won the Viewer’s Choice Award for his platinum-selling hit “Residuals” from his Grammy-winning album 11:11 (Deluxe). Summer Walker, who will join Brown on the North American leg of his tour, won the BET Her Award for her nostalgic track “Heart of a Woman.”
